28 Mar Exercises for Knee Pain in Female Athletes: Single Leg Quarter Squat
Knee pain sucks.
And it can be nagging a young female athlete for several months to a few years if not treated quickly and properly.
When the young girl goes through her most rapid period of growth, the quadriceps muscle can pull on the patella tendon, causing a dull pain initially, then progressing to a severe ache if strengthening isn’t incorporated into a year-round program.
Here is an exercise that helps with strengthening the quadricep during the eccentric (muscle lengthening phase in deceleration) portion. Perform 2 sets 10-15 reps.
