11 Aug Technique Tuesday: Floor Get Up
Scratch the yoga classes.
Here is a simple exercise to do daily that is an ankle and hip mobility gem. Do it every day not only to improve as an athlete, but also, to be able to get up from the floor later on in life.
This is a critical life skill to begin mastering now and then performing for a lifetime.
Benefits for the athlete:
– Improved ankle mobility helps with stability of the knee when changing direction
– Improved ankle and hip mobility improves sprinting (ball of foot strike, full range of motion for better stride length)
– Improved ankle and hip mobility makes change of direction more explosive (easier to decelerate then re-accelerate)
