02 Aug Knowledge Is Power: Strength and Conditioning Stuff to Check Out
My apologies for slacking on blogging this week.
My summer is wrapping up and ending on a high note with the U.S. Soccer National C Coaching License Course.
What is this, you ask?
Well, it’s an 8-day course on all things tactical coaching, managing and leading soccer teams, and planning and executing training sessions. Oh, and presenting on my awesome tactical artwork:
Think weekend conference on steroids.
It’s intense. It’s long. It’s a reminder I’m not 90 minute fit anymore.
That said, my right hip flexor is pissed at me. And I’m waddling like I have a stick up my butt.
Here are this week’s readings:
The Daily Stoic – Ryan Holiday
Are you an emotional train wreck? Do you get worked up when your husband plays fantasy football? Then, maybe you should study Stoicism.
Now this isn’t to say become a robot and don’t have feelings. This is a great read for anyone looking for reminders from our history’s most legendary philosophers on how to live life with ease, fulfillment, and happiness.
A Look Behind the Curtain: The Line and Relationships We Have With Clients – Shane McLean via Tony Gentilcore
I’m glad someone finally shed light on this topic. The title says it all and not much needs to be said. Give it a read and let me know what you think.
Historic Performance Podcast with Dr. Tony Strudwick – Historic Performance
Dr. Tony Strudwick is one of my top people to turn to when it comes to performance training for soccer players.
I mean, I’ve referenced his epic read Soccer Science a million times. Okay, a million ONE times now. ;-O
But seriously, check it out. And then listen to this awesome podcast on Manchester United’s athletic development and performance culture.
