23 Apr BLOG VIDEO COMMENTARY: Soccer Saved My Life
For those of you who have followed my writing until now, you’re aware of my story.
It’s the story that has been the impetus behind my work today: to inspire young athletes to love movement, and find that one thing that inspires and fills them with joy.
It’s also a story that is much deeper than me loving the beautiful game, teaching kids, researching exercise physiology, and crushing pull-ups.
It’s a story of darkness, despair and depression.
But in the end, it powerfully shifts into a story of brightness, hope, and purpose.
Soccer Saved My Life has been my most vulnerable piece of putting pen to paper and spilling the depths of my heart and soul.
While I wrote it for me and it was immensely healing to write, it served thousands of young athletes who are going through the same gut wrenching defeat.
Too, it inspired many to take control of their lives and lean into the things that give them meaning and hope.
