Just melted out on the turf and don’t have much to say. I’ll be witty soon enough and shower you with content.
Here are this week’s readings:
The Mastery of Love – Don Miguel Ruiz
I recently read Don Miguel Ruiz’s The Four Agreements, so I had to snag his newest book. There are two types of emotions that govern our reality: fear and love. Fear is based on the past and future, while love is engrossed in the present moment. Not only is this book a stellar read for improving your relationships and friendships, it’s great for letting love guide you throughout life.
An awesome quote I took from the book: “Love coming out of you is the only way to be happy. We are born with the right to be happy and enjoy life. We don’t have to suffer.”
An enlightening and game changing book, no doubt.
Deadlift Technique: The Solutions Is In The Set Up – Eric Cressey
An athlete walks up to the bar, psyches themselves up, looks like they mean business, only to execute a poor deadlift lift-off. They failed to engage their lats, maintain a “proud chest” and rushed through the first pull.
Eric Cressey does an excellent job of breaking down the set up to set your athletes up for pristine form.
Free 20 Page Pull Up Program Preview – Meghan Callaway
You’d be an a-hole not to hop on board with this deal. Strength coach Meghan Callaway is releasing her badass pull up program this Fall. It’s technical. It’s progressive. It’s challenging. But what sets it apart from other pull up programs is it’s useful for beginners and advanced lifters. Whether you’re trying to achieve your first ever pull up, or improve your 1 rep max, this program is for you.
You will find that Meghan’s approach is about total body strength, core stability, healthy movement, and intermuscular coordination. You may learn a thing or too about exercise physiology too. ;-O
Keep in mind this link is a preview, but there is a TON of useful content.
